Is using the term 'Xmas' leaving Christ out of Christmas?

You know what's "funny?"
The fact that "Christmas", the actual holiday itself, was made to "replace" another pagan holiday. I'm not talking about the pagans that worship the goddess or something (although, I think, they too celebrate this holiday. Druids ring a bell?)...I"m talking about before Christianity. THAT pagan. It was called Yule, wasn't it? It was sorta like present-day Christmas, but without the regards to Jesus Christ being born that day. Presents were around a tree that might have been decorated, and people just gave each other gifts as a means to have some cheer around a dark and boring time.
But Alas, as the pope (I forgot which one he was, and I'm sure a few others) decided that he wanted to have a holiday that would make the pagan's holiday look obsolete (an attempt to drive the old ways out completely) they made Christmas around that time of the year.
So in reality, "christmas" is nothing more than early Christianity's "soldiers" attempt to drive the pagans out completely.
Isn't it sad? Everyone always makes Christiantiy out to look like its immortal and it's been here ever since the beginning of time. It's been cute, really, but enough is enough.

1.) Cry me a river
2.) Build a bridge
3.) ...and get OVER it.
