ENJOY WILLING HUMAN SACRIFICE

# ... [Does] Satan... still exist?
such an excellent question. what with reproduction, consumption,
and construction rates, fascist, invasive capitalist technocracies,
Satan may already only be found on another planet (shifted homes).
according to the Church of Satan? why don't we ask the FAQ you just
followed up in response and see if it answers it whenever it speaks
of Satan, per se, and Hir existence.
# Satan long repented
right there you tell us your interests are moral, Christian,
and probably never read the FAQ. fun. so here's your education day.
# and bore the sins he brought to the world on his back alone
# suffered them and returned to heaven.
# Rev 22vs16
how beautiful. you've answered the question the same way. ;>
what about the FAQ you replied to, without reading
(HPaulis'/ CoS Official)? amongst the contributing authors,
'Satan' isn't listed. :> but "Myths and truths" (in 3.4) and
"What is the stance of the CoS on these popular tales and predictions
[about Satan in the Bible]? (in 4.6) seem like possibly addressing you.
but 3.4 is only about LaVey and his church, so no luck there, and
***@chello.at distributed: "Church of Satan commonly asked questions"
could Satan be an *artifact*? ;>
here's the CoS answer to:
# ... [Does] Satan... still exist?
# We take the name Satan in concept only. Any other connection is
# thrust upon us by anxious, ignorant, and/or misinformed people.
whoops! looks like it never did, except conceptually. ;>
you've really gotta LOT to learn!
oh but wait, it gets confusing here at points.
# The archetype itself, by whatever name is appropriate, is far older
# than [Christianity] or Judaism,
this individual believes either that archetypes are ONLY conceptual,
but has made reference to an existent thing in two different manners.
(1) the 'Satan' of the 'Church of Satan' is *conceptual only*
Satan exists at least insofar as it is conceptually usable.
-------------------------------------------------------------
AND (2) an "archetype" which may be perceived in several forms.
most describe an archetype as having some essential connection to
psychological and/or spiritual structures. that is, they are thought
not to be conceptual *only*, but may become known as they incite
concepts or appear to the conscious mind *through* them. archetypes
may be internal components of conceptual personal realms, and so
occultists sometimes seek to interact with themselves in this way,
through trance-possession, channelling, or "emulation".
according to this FAQ, Satan does exist, yes, as an archetype,
and is much more than the conceptual reference provided by the
Church of Satan whose commonly asked questions you followed up.
and (3) Satan is comparable to, related to, or (probably) appears
in RELIGIONS (such as Christianity and Judaism) and is
older than these societal institutions,
SHe might appear in certain ways identifiable and predictable.
(this is the hope of most exorcists and thrillseeking sorcerors.)
SHe might be an essential component of human cognitive functions
and so less potent a threat than some cosmic Adversary or Entropy.
# ...Satan has generally been the character ....
a conceptual character. like a superhero, a role-playing game
character, or a comic book character. :> fun, but not 'real'
or existent in some meaningful way (just thoughts/mind).
[snip blah blah blah]
# ...we emulate him....
emulating archetypes. that's almost as silly as walking around wearing
a superhero costume, like magical robes and the Eye of Agamotto.
nothing more about Satan or Satan's existence here, though it gives
me the sense of possession, or 'riding' with Satan-character.
I conceived long ago of Elven religion in which people created characters
and then worshipped them, intentionally, for purpose of self-support.
emulation was one of the modes therein, and this attitude toward Satan
(however conceived, in this case by Satanists) attuning to the archetype.

darn, I was hoping Satan would also be an artifact. :>
